Yesterday was a great day through Georgia. Backroads, barbecue and motorbike. It was also our longest ride. 500 miles to Athens from Palm Bay. Riding through Jacksonville and getting off the interstate as the palm trees change into pine trees and the salty air is replaced with wildflowers. Rolling hills and most importantly curves. I love Florida but it is extremely uneventful riding. Traffic is the only reason you change direction. The state of Georgia offers beautiful riding and friendly secondary highways.
Arrived in Athens to a town that is overflowing. University of Georgia (Dawgs) convocation is today and we secured the last room downtown. Little above our budget but we have had a great sleep and good food in a gorgeous campus town.
Really looking forward to the Smoky Mountains today. Little less distance but far more turns and scenery.
